A playfully bad girl, un-conforming, wild and natural, La Monella is an organic natural  Riesling from the sub region of Pisa in Central Otago.

Hand harvested, after which it was chilled and stored for 5 days and then whole bunch pressed into a small clay amphora pot. The juice commenced fermentation
naturally, and fermented dry 6 weeks after. It remained in the amphora aging, untouched but very much loved, for an additional four months before bottling without filtration or fining. 

'Ambrato' due to its natural Amber hue! 

A fresh, vibrant, aromatic example of a minimal intervention wine. Ripe Citrus notes combine with a very attractive savoury character. The palate is rich, textured and multilayered, finishing with crystalline acidity. A unique expression of Central Otago Riesling.
